When the Passione Ferrari visits Germany, Maranello Motors is naturally also there. 14 Ferraris set off on a guided tour to the Rhine-Neckar region to experience the sporting action firsthand.
The weekend, dedicated entirely to Ferrari Racing, began early Saturday morning with a light breakfast. After a briefing with racing driver Jan Philipp Springob, who led the tour as instructor, we set off toward the Hockenheimring. Naturally, the route didn't lead directly to the destination. A beautiful, varied route first included a stopover in the southern wine route. A coffee stop in the beautiful Weincastell village provided a final refueling in nature before heading off to the final stretch of the track to Hockenheim.
On-site, the event lived up to its name. In the Passione Ferrari, Challenge drivers from across Europe battled for victories in their classes. To our particular delight, Herbert Geiss secured a podium finish with second place in the Trofeo Pirelli AM. Michael Martin also delivered a very good performance, finishing in sixth place. action firsthand.
But the day at Passione Ferrari was far from over. Things turned exotic in the evening. The Cuban Night at the Track Hospitality not only offered an exceptional menu of typical Cuban food, but also provided a wonderful atmosphere.
The participants of our tour were able to experience a successful sporting conclusion on Sunday. On a rain-soaked track, both Herbert Geiss and Michael Martin secured good starting positions for the races that followed in the afternoon. Herbert Geiss narrowly missed the podium with 4th place, but moved up in the Challenge Trofeo Pirelli AM overall standings, also finishing 4th. Michael Martin once again made it into the top 10, finishing 7th.
But the biggest highlight for the tour participants was by far the Owner Driving experience at the legendary Hockenheimring itself. Experiencing the track and its curves in your own Ferrari, just like Formula 1 and racing legends of the past and present, is simply incomparable. Pure passion.
